• Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is situated on a high hill with a view of the city. It is considered one of the most sacred temples in northern Thailand and is believed to have been founded by Kruba Srivichai. In the past, the path to the temple was quite narrow and steep. This temple is a beautiful example of northern Thai architecture. It is a 306-step climb up a staircase surrounded by nagas (mythical sea serpents) which are used by tourists and Thais as a place of worship for people in general.

Wat Phra That Hariphunchai Woramahawihan is an important religious site in the North. It is a sacred place that has been with Lamphun for more than a thousand years. It is located in the center of Lamphun, about 150 meters from the provincial hall. There are two tiers of Satti-banchor (iron and brass fences), and a golden ship enshrined at the outer fence on both the north and south sides. There are also kumphand arches and umbrellas at the four corners. and the four towers on each side, each containing a seated Buddha image. In addition, there are lamps and altars for Buddhists to worship.
