- Fish Cave
Tham Pla is a cave under the foot of the mountain. There is a stream flowing out of the cave all year round. At the mouth of the cave is a pool of water about 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep. You can see a large group of gray-blue forest fish called Pla Mung or Phluang. They are large scaled fish of the same family as the carp. Their bodies are 60-80 centimeters long and weigh about 5-7 kilograms. In addition, Tham Pla also has a beautiful view of the forest and limestone cliffs. Tham Pla is located on Highway 1095 (Mae Hong Son-Mae Malai) between kilometers 191-192, only 17 kilometers from Mae Hong Son city.
- Nam Lod Cave
it is an important archaeological site under the care of the Pai River Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. Interesting places include “Nam Lod Cave”, where a stream called Nam Lang flows through the mountain to the other side, creating a cave with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. From the discovery of ancient tools in the cave, it is estimated that it is approximately 2,000 years old. The cave is approximately 1 kilometer long and consists of 3 large chambers: “Sao Hin Luang Cave” is a large cave with stalactites and stalagmites. The most notable feature is the large limestone pillars formed by several long stalactites and stalagmites converging together. Some pillars are as high as 20 meters. “Tham Tukkata” has many small stalactite-like stalagmites arranged in rows. On one side of the cave wall, there are prehistoric paintings. The distinctive feature is the use of red and black paint, which is a feature rarely found in Thailand. This cave is the widest and longest in Nam Lod Cave. The last cave is at the exit, “Tham Phi Man”. In addition to having beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, There were also pieces of pottery, seeds, stone tools, teeth and human bones, including the “Phi Man coffin”. The Phi Man coffin is a log of wood that has been dug out in the middle to create a groove like a boat or a wooden trough for food. There are both small and large coffins. The large coffins are placed on beams, using 4-6 poles set on the cave floor. Each pair of poles is drilled with a hole to insert a beam to place the Phi Man coffin across.
- Putongpe Bamboo Bridge
It is a 500-meter long bamboo bridge connecting Phusama Dharma Garden and Ban Kung Mai Sak, across rice fields and the Mae Sanga River. It was built by monks, novices, and villagers. The monks prayed, “May the bridge to Kung Mai Sak be easily completed.” This bridge was used as a route for alms giving. The villagers who believed in it brought their house posts and fence posts to donate to the temple and built the bridge together until it was completed as they prayed. They named it “Sutong Pae,” which means “pray for success” in the Shan language. It is a very famous bamboo bridge. Tourists like to travel there to experience the refreshing atmosphere and see the beautiful nature that changes in each season.
